Stainless steel sheets

I have a client that needs 60 000 stainless steel sheets of 800 x 600 mm and 1.2 mm thick engraved. Now I have the option of either laser or rotary, he wants a deep engrave. The letters are about 120 mm high and an Arial Bold font. That means allot of hatching, I don’t think inking would be possible, considering the stainless is only 1.2 mm thick. Just a deep engrave of say .3 or .4 without inking would also look good, with a fine hatch, to give it a nice smooth finish in the lettering. What would be your thoughts on this? I also want to offer him the most cost effective option. They also need to buff the metal afterwards so that might pose a problem to the laser engraving, so would Yag work better?
