Default Brother PR600 Cap Frame Issue

Trying to get a cap order out and I don't know why, but my cap frame visor holder keeps hitting the machine and when I try to adjust it, not really sure how but I try to manually, it seems to revert back to the other settings because it acts like it gets hung up and sounds awful and then it resets itself. This is aggravating and has never happened before. I can't find any instructions on how to keep it from rubbing or hanging up on the machine and don't know what to try next. Every now and then, I can bump it back a little by hand, cause it seems like to travels forward too much is the problem and that will work for keeping it from rubbing sometimes BUT it causes it to not be centered right and left...

Not having a clue as to what to try here. Any and all help would greatly be appreciated before I either tear up my machine accidently OR screw up any more caps.

Ok, I've been working from the design in the machine's memory so I am going to try to send it from the computer again in case the file had gotten corrupt. Here goes nothing.

Did not work any better. The weird thing about it is I can put the cap on the frame and driver and do the dry run with it and it won't touch at all, BUT, when I actually sew with it it touches everytime no matter how much clearance was there or not there on the test run.

The problem you are having is why I outsource ALL of my ball caps, and demand credit back from Hirsh when we buy new machines and tell them to keep the hat set-ups. The brand new 8 heads we just bought, I took one machine with the cap frames to give 'em a try with this new design, but I haven't had a minute to even try to set up two heads, let alone all 8.

If you have a big run (50 doz and up) and need somebody to run them for you I can make a suggestion or two based on where you are in the country. I have three good operations I could rec for caps, one in Fl, one in SC, and one in OH.

Try flattening out the brim by bending it back to orig. shape. The curve may be the cause of your problem.

Take this with a grain of salt, because as I stated previously, I HATE hats, and have always contracted them out. I talked to one of the guys I use for caps, and he asked me if you are running a hat with a turnback head band. He says he always turns the bands out, but is not sure if you can do so on your attachment. He says it gives less torque to the stitching, and sews more uniformly.

The post before mine also sounds logical, so try a few singles and then go for it.

Good luck

yes, MANY companies are obviously doing hats with little issue.. so they are not something to shy away from. I remember the days when we beat the hats into submission and hooped them FLAT in an oval hoop! lol.. good for stress release for sure! but the machines now work wonders so not sure , other than operator error or lack of proper training, why there would be an issue??
