Brother BAS-416 hook & timing

I am trying to help a friend figure out her hook and timing for her Brother. I cannot find anywhere what the needle depth should be set to. I am not a Brother user - my Toyota has me set my needle depth to 196.5 degrees. Does Brother have a position it should be set to or does she just eyeball it? Thanks in advance. She is ready to rip her hair out from frustration and she’s never done this before. I’ve sent a couple of good videos, but thought I would reach out here as well.
