I recently purchased the cap hoop for my brother pc-6500 and it does not seem to be working. I can not get close enough to the brim - does anyone have some advise on how to do a cap with this machine. It's a flatbed embroidery machine and I can't seem to get it flat enough to embroider and keep it aligned.
I"m also interested in purchasing a multi-head machine for a reasonable price. I would like to stay with the brother brand, but at this point my options are open.
Thank you for all your help.
Re: Cap embroidery
I haven't used that particular machine. I don't recommend this but some people set the machine to flats rather than caps to embroider closer to the brim. I have used this method with visors but it only gets you a slight bit of room and if you aren't careful you'll damage your machine. Also, the quality of the stitching isn't as great closer to the brim so generally its better to give yourself more room. Occasionally customers request a larger embroidery area but I explain to them that that look is embroidered before the cap is assembled.
