Production Per Head Opinions

I'm looking for opinions.
What do you think?

Ok, I know there's a thousand variables, but there has to be a number that you can use as a base production number per embroidery head. If you consider that some 7000 stitch jobs run 3 an hour and that some 50000 stitch applique backs take an hour and a half to run there still has to be a number that will be a rough average over weeks and months.

I believe that you should be able to average 1 run per head per hour.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Sam

You're going about this the wrong way. You have to take your total expenses to figure a base amount to charge depending upon the profit you can expect. Then you can figure the amount of time spent on the machine based upon the income that each head will generate.

If you insist on a production figure per hour, figure 550-600 spm for a total hour of 33K to 36K per hour average. This account for one operator hooping, correcting thread breaks, changing bobbins, and any other operations required for the job. This is based upon what we do YMMV.
