Ricoma Machines any good?

I am looking to start my own business within the next year, and owuld like to get a machine that would do small to medium amount of work. I keep having people tell me about the Ricoma, they say they are cheap on ebay and work well. I had never heard of them and dont know how much they break down, or how durable they are. Can anyone reccomend anything?

Ricoma is a very similar machine to the Feiya.
It is possibly built by the same manufacturer under two different names.
My experiences sadly have not been very good.
The machine is definitely not as good as the Japanese machines irrespective
of what the disbutors say. I never heard a salesman state that his goods were bad.
The machines are very noisy. The cap embroidery leaves a lot to be desired.
I get far more thread breaks and poorer quality than on my Japanese machines.
The price was very good...but I will not be buying another Chinese embroidery
machine again. I have learnt my lesson.

Hope this helps...

Use caution. I've seen good and bad things about this. Personally, I looked seriously at these machines at a trade show but chose to go with a different machine. Based on feedback I've heard from others and read, I am glad I did.

Have a great day! :)

I dont think a personal attack was warranted. Also, I dont know how you can say my statements are "untrue and unfounded and unjustified". This statement simply states that I am lying and that IS untrue. I gave my opinion and qualified my response with "Based on feedback I've heard from others" and what I personally have seen at tradeshows and at business near me who owns 2 Ricomas.

I do find it interesting that Ricoma dealers are very quick to go on the defensive and attack posters. You are not the first I've seen do this but you are the first to attack me. You do not know me nor my background nor who I know or my contacts. Personal attacks are not warranted.

I have never seen another manufacture attack people like Ricoma does. If anything is unwarranted, its your attack.

Have a great day! :)

Ricoma Embroidery machines are PURE CHINESE JUNK. Don't waste your money---Machine runs too slow, Vibrates constantly, and has much plastic components. Warranty is not what it appears. Ricoma uses serveral dealers who are nothing more then Home Based "Fly by Night " People

Tankless,

What did you find out about them?

I am in the market and looking at these machines and want to know what you found out.
Thansk

The ricoma nachines are junk, Do not waste your money on them, They can not sew ate a fast speed ithour distorting the design. They are plastic and parts break very easily

I would suggest you not to waste your money on one of those. They have a poor reputation and all the people i have seen buying them ended up getting rid of them real soon. Invest in a good quality machine that will go a long way with you in your work.

I've been researching for some suggestions on my digitizing and I've come up with two RiCOMA Threads and I wanted to show my experience with them

It looks like maybe RiCOMA had a bad reputation years ago, my experience has been absolutely great, I own an embroidery / Screen Printing shop and I started with a two head 2 years ago and I just bought another 4 Head machine. First, it was a very smooth transaction, the training for both of the machines was a great experience, the trainer showed me all the steps and explained all the questions I had, customer service after i had the machine was + +. it exceed my expectations.

I think its the same when buying a car, if you treat it right, it will last forever!
I did my research before i bought a RiCOMA and take my word. they have come a long way with new innovations that other brands don't have.

I would not reccomend buying ricoma. i bought a multifunction ricoma from florida Nov. 2008. was shipped Dec. 2008. i made one patch and it froze up. I have since sued the company and won. however haven't gotten paid back. They never once sincerly tried to fix the machine, nor did they know how to. It has been a 21,000 dollar big mistake! I have now found out that a repair man thinks that the machine was sold as new in 2008 is actually a 2005 with a serial number plate changed out. BEWARE!

I have read these post regarding the Ricoma and believe me when I say this, there is no support from the ricoma main office in floriday. the post from this person, embroidery king must be a big fake....ask him for his phone number and location. you probably won't get it because he works for or has been paid for by ricoma. you can make up any name like embroidery king and post all the false statement you wish.......just be very causious on this brand. they are mostly sell and forget. there salespeople have not even embrodered an item of anykind and no experience what so ever.

If you plan on starting an embroidery business, do not skimp out on the most important component of the business...The machine. Do a TON of homework before you buy anything. If you are asking about Ricoma it says to me that you don't know much about embroidery, or embroidery machines....And there is nothing wrong with that at all. But don't base your search for machine on price alone. You will wind up being very, very sorry in the end. Industrial embroidery machines are VERY sophisticated pieces of equipment and quality machines do not come cheap. If you find a machine that is half the cost of other, similar brand name machines...Be very careful. There are reasons it costs half as much. I'm not saying you can't find a deal out there, but know exactly what you are paying for. And most importantly, know what type of post purchase service you'll be getting. That's almost just as important as the quality of the machine itself. I don't know what your budget is, but if it were me, I would rather buy a 10-15 y/o Tajima then a brand new "off" brand machine. Or if I was going to buy brand new I'd only look at Tajima, Barudan, Happy, & SWF...In that order...And I'd most likely end up with a Tajima. I've worked on/with, and have experience with Tajima, SWF, & older Barudan machines. And I know people who are very happy (no pun intended) with their Happy machines. But for me, nothing runs like a Tajima. But you are going to pay for it.
