Cutting letters

Is there an easy way to cut out text letters from a chosen font style, instead of raster engraving them? I would like to try cutting letters from two contrasting veneers and then transpose one to the other.

Should be pretty easy. Click on the text, set the fill color to none, and the outline to Hairline and set the print settings for vector cutting. That last part will vary depending on the laser you are using.

This is very close to what I want to do, except I’d like to raster a fill pattern inside the letters, then vector cut them out. The difference is I’m not using ‘lettering’ per se, I’m using a scanned image of a photograph of a person, and I want to raster the interior, and cut out the perimeter. I will look for that ‘autotrace’ function. It sounds easier than the way I’m making a perimeter in paintshop.
