Is photograv worth all the hype? I’m not having much luck with engraving pictures on wood or steel. Is the $399.00 the way to go??
Basically what it does is converts a grayscale bmp image to a black and white bitmap, making its own adjustments based on the material you tell it you are going to engrave on. It doesn’t do anything you can’t do on your own, if you have the time and materials to experiment. I’ve been using Photoshop for years, but I still can’t do as good a job as Photograv does. I don’t much care for photos engraved onto wood, but I’ve received positive feedback with the photos I’ve engraved onto acrylic and painted brass using Photograv. Not affiliated, just my experience.
