Thats the way its supposed to be sent but there are only a few customers like you who go out of their way to do that. Also some embroiderers do not have the graphic knowledge to put a background on an artwork or they could have received a jpeg image.

This was an interesting blog by Erich Cambell about dimensional embroidery. I think this is what Robert was talking about.

I always find Erich's blogs useful.

It is interesting in the example shown in the article that Eric saw the lady on the left as having a specific hair style, where when I look at the art I see her wearing a hat. There is the issue.. we don't KNOW what the client sees or expects most of the time... so it can be a gamble. (my hat would be an Inspector Clouseau type ... think Pink Panther... which around here is a new fashion statement for women in dresses to wear.)

I agree with you Robert, I saw a hat not hair...

He could have easily separated a hat element in the stitching as easily as the hair style, me personally I see a hat and think a hat would have looked truer to the original logo type. But that is something the custy would have to point out when a proof was submitted.

I would always ask them if the white part is going to be stitch out or if its going to be blank? Then they would understand. It's what we asked them. We have to understand that the customer is not the artist so they don't comprehend. We have to also understand that the blank part is part of the design too.
